Our volunteers help collect fun and informative pictures, videos and information about the cats and kittens in our sponsored pens.
Cats Protection helps around 200,000 cats and kittens every year and we just couldn’t do this without our supporters who raise over an amazing £4 million a year for the kitty! By volunteering in this rewarding role you will not only get to spend time directly with cats and kittens, you will help connect our supporters with the great work we do and more importantly update them on our amazing sponsor felines!
What can you expect to be doing?
Taking photos and videos of the cat/s or kittens in the sponsor pen
Gathering information and case studies about the cat/s or kittens in the sponsor pen
Sending content and liaising with the Direct Marketing team who will send the information to cat pen sponsors or use in national fundraising campaigns to help raise funds
Making sure sponsorship materials (leaflets, signs, posters) are stocked and replaced at the centres when needed
A bit more information about this role and the team
We’re looking for volunteers who can take on this new and exciting role at one of our following sponsor adoption centres:
National Cat Adoption Centre
What are the benefits to you and the cats?
You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge and make a meaningful contribution to improving the lives of cats and kittens by helping keep sponsors up to date about the cats in the pens they sponsor. You will also meet new people, make new friends and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers. You will be supplied with a camera and footage collection training unless you would prefer to use your own equipment.
We’re looking for someone with
Willingness to be part of a team
A passion for people and animals
Experience of photography would be beneficial but isn’t essential
Our volunteers usually spend around two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. To make sure this is the case, we provide support and guidance both remotely from our National Cat Centre and face to face through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We also offer varied online and face to face training and have wide-ranging policies covering all aspects of volunteering. We hope the support we provide will ensure our volunteers have a great experience with Cats Protection.
